The recent launch of Facebook App "Music Store" has led social discovery service WaTunes to explore new strategies in studying the purchase behavior of Facebook users. Music Store, a full-fledge music store enables Facebook users to discover, share, and buy millions of songs without leaving the social network. With a simple, easy-to-use marketplace inside the largest social network, will this make consumer behavior more impulsive and convenient? WaTunes CEO Kevin Rivers seems to think so.

"With today's technology, consumers are able to gain access to premium content from the comforts of their home and within their mobile devices. I believe as time progress, we'll begin to see more developing services utilizing social networks like Facebook to embrace the consumers to discover their services and products within each social network ecosystem. Such change can enhance consumer buying behavior, making sales transactions more impulsive and convenient."

So what is next for the social discovery service?

Rivers talks about enhancing Music Store with more Facebook updates that enables users to embed Music Store within each user profiles, bookmarks, and the possibility of introducing new payment methods including Facebook Credits, and PayPal.

"We certainly want to provide Facebook users with more alternatives when making a purchase and being able to discover new music even faster! We have plans to expand and implement Music Store into other Facebook territories including Canada, Europe, and Japan by the beginning of the 3rd quarter".
