W00-hoo! We are STOKED! Earl “The Pearl” Monroe himself (and I’m a BIG FAN btw!!!) took time for an email interview. I might not be able to go 1-on-1 with Earl on the court but here’s the next best thing: going on a 1-on-1 interview and having 10 questions answered by “The Pearl” himself:

The Pageman: What’s an NBA Hall of Famer and 50th Anniversary Team member doing nowadays?

The Pearl: Let me start by saying thank you for being a fan. It’s wonderful to have fans all over the world.

The Pageman: Why did you create Reverse Spin Records?

The Pearl: I created Reverse Spin Entertainment because music has always been a passion of mine. It is a pleasure to be able to explore different avenues of business.

The Pageman: What kind of artists do you sign to Reverse Spin? Are you looking for a particular sound?

The Pearl: I always appreciate real talent. I look for performance, talent, passion and drive. I am always open to new ideas and that’s why I think we will set trends.

The Pageman: Any standouts right now in Reverse Spin? Top your heard can you name 3-4 artists from your label?

The Pearl: Our artists Ciara Corr and ChinaBlak are going to be the hottest new artists. They will be setting trends in music.

The Pageman: Why are they going to be big in 2009?

The Pearl: Ciarra Corr’s album will be a Grammy winner. Her music speaks to many people while offering beats that make you never forget. ChinaBlak is one of a kind and will take over the hip-hop scene. She will be dominating with variety in lyrics and beats. Her performance talent is phenomenal and to not be missed.

The Pageman: How did you first hear of WaTunes?

The Pearl: I heard of WaTunes through a friend.

The Pageman: How do you like the service so far?

The Pearl: The service is making strides in the digital world.

The Pageman: We’re just a new startup – any advice from an NBA Legend like you?

The Pageman: Not really music related but who do you think is going to win the NBA Finals? Why?

The Pearl: The finals were exciting. It’s great to see the fellow gladiators out there creating history on the court.

The Pageman: Any messages for your basketball and music fans out there?

The Pearl: To all of my fans, thank you and I appreciate every single one of you. I hope you will create moments in your life with our music. Look out for “The ChinaBlak Experience” by ChinaBlak and Ciara Corr’s album this Fall.

NBA Legend Earl Monroe Joins Revolutionary Music Service
