As you guys know the VIP service has been changed to a monthly subscription service of $12.95 per month. Now I’ve been getting e-mails from current VIP members on whether or not they have to pay this new monthly fee. The answer is: Nope. If you are a currently active VIP customer, you do not have to pay the newly $12.95 per month and that your yearly subscription fee will be with you until you decide to cancel.

Got a Music Video, Film, Documentary, TV Show? Now you can subscribe to the new WaTV Net subscription service for just $5.95 per month and submit unlimited video contents to WaTV. We then also automatically place them into our video channels including YouTube, AOL, and more!

Simple. Log into your WaTunes account, click on ‘Add-Ons’ and purchase the WaTV NET subscription service. Afterwards, we’ll give you a temporary FTP account where you can deliver your video contents. From there, our WaTV Programming Team will get you started in putting your videos on WaTV and so much more!

New Site Updates + Building Your WaTunes Profile!

We’ve updated our website a bit and have enabled a profile based feel. Please by all means, update your profile with as much information as you can as this will help build your presence in WaTunes. Now a lot of people have been asking me:

Q: If I go through another distributor, can I still be apart of WaTunes?

A: The answer is: Absolutely!

WaTunes is a very social driven service and enables anyone and everyone from any distributor or any website to showcase their music, attract new fans, and collaborate with new and interesting artists without using the WaTunes distribution service. Week 3: New Experience Teaser, Jay-Z, Kandystand , Full Site Shutdown Tuesday 9/15

Kevin here. Only 14 days…Wait…13 days until the pre-launch of WaTunes New Experience coming September 28th, 2009. As you guys know, for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been dishing out weekly teasers of what is coming with WaTunes New Experience. So far you guys have seen the public profile pages and the killer new video service WaTV. This week, I will introduce to you guys the new WaTunes Mobile Store, a new development in partnership with Thumbplay, a leading digital mobile music service provider. With the WaTunes Mobile Store, you’ll be able to search, listen, and download your favorite ringtones, graphics, wallpaper, and games right into your phone. Working with carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Celluarsouth, now you can share music on a whole new playing field. Check out the latest ‘Blueprint 3’ by Jay-Z now being available as a downloadable ringtone on WaTunes.

So what does this have to do with the indie artists that uses WaTunes for digital distribution?

A lot. Through Thumbplay’s OPEN Platform, we’ve enabled you to directly deal with Thumbplay to easily convert your songs into ringtones and making them instantly available on Thumbplay and the WaTunes Mobile Store. WaTunes Artist Kandystand quickly took advantage of Thumbplay and has their latest release “Everybody” now available as a ringtone on the WaTunes Mobile Store.

These are several great opportunities that we will be providing with New Experience. On a separate note, this Tuesday, the WaTunes current site will be fully shutdown until September 28th to begin our transition into WaTunes New Experience. Week 2: New Experience WaTV Teaser

We’re now on Week 2 as the countdown continues until the launch of WaTunes New Experience. This week, I’ll reveal to you guys our new WaTV streaming service. Through our strategic partnership with Livestream, WaTV will enable every user the ability to watch the latest music videos, industry news, and more from major and independent artists alike. WaTV is designed to give exposure to the artists and introduce a medium for fans to watch and discover new music. WaTunes New Experience will launch WaTV with 10 music channels from Country and Rock to Hip-Hop and Latin. So without further delay, the screenshot below is WaTV in action. Introducing WaTV (A Distributor’s First!)

Exciting times ahead! WaTunes Music Video distribution just went online as you guys know, giving you the power to upload your music videos to iTunes and even Playstation 3. In an effort to make WaTunes New Experience ready for prime-time, we’ll be conducting many alpha services that will give us leading indications on how we can easily express new features to you. One of these great services that we will launch with WaTunes New Experience is WaTV, a video network powered by Vimeo to offer you the ability to view unique channels and stream pretty cool video contents from WaTunes and our partners.

One of these unique channels is the ‘Share Your Story’ channel which gives artists, labels, or a music lover like you a voice of expression where you can share your story about your WaTunes Experience. We then, place your story into one of our episodes which enables viewers to see what you think personally and express your connection with them. Below is our first episode of ‘Share Your Story’ by Matt Kletter. You may have remember Matt Kletter as The Silver Movement (whom we’ve recently interviewed) regarding his experiences with WaTunes. We want to take this to the next level, by giving you a visual voice to express your WaTunes Experiences.
